23/10/08 - English

We pray for the meetings held between state leaders and international organizations to discuss the global financial crisis. As they make their decisions, we pray that they remember the needs of ordinary people who are the most affected by the crisis.

This week, we continue to pray for the safety of both local and international volunteers participating in the Olive Harvest. We pray that Palestinian farmers and their families who are suffering from continuous settler violence and uprooting of olive trees may have a peaceful harvest.

We pray for the numerous pilgrimage groups coming to Jerusalem who take the time out of their Holy Land trips to participate in alternative tours – either the Contemporary Way of the Cross or other opportunities and make an effort to see and hear what is happening in Jerusalem and the Occupied Palestinian Territories.

We pray for all Sabeel staff and volunteers in Jerusalem and Nazareth planning the seventh international conference. As the conference dates quickly approach, we pray that we will be united in a spirit of love, encouragement, and commitment to the work of justice.
