As the illegal siege of the 1.6
million people who live in the Gaza Strip without freedom and human dignity and
the occupation of the West Bank continues, we pray for the activists who were participating
in the "Welcome to Palestine" campaign, which some have called the
"flytilla," in which up to 800 activists were to fly into Ben Gurion International Airport on a peaceful mission to visit
Palestinian families last Friday. We
pray for the 120 non-violent activists from around the world who were jailed in
2 Israeli facilities -- one in Ramleh near Tel Aviv and the other at Beersheva
in southern Israel's Negev desert. We pray that the illegal siege of Gaza and the occupation of the
West Bank will come to an end so that peace, justice, and hope may be prevail. Lord, in your mercy, Hear our prayer.
After four decades of recurring warfare and
confrontation in Sudan which have caused an estimated death toll of more than 2
million as well as destroying much of the region’s infrastructure and eroding
resources necessary for a healthy economy, we give you thanks O Lord, for the
creation of the new country of South Sudan.
We pray for the new possibilities for peace and justice for your
children regaining their lives after so much destruction. Lord, in your mercy, Hear our prayer.
We pray for Sabeel’s Nazareth’s
programs for the children, youth, young adults and women as they have final
programs before their August break. We
pray for Sabeel’s Young Adult Single’s dinner and program this Thursday, may the
more than 70 participants and leaders be blest.
We continue to pray for the participants from 11 countries that will
soon be traveling to Jerusalem for the 6th Annual Young Adult’s
Conference “Christianity in the East, Islam in the West: Prophetic Voices from Palestine and Israel.” We thank You, God, for the young people who
want to make a Christian difference with their lives. Lord, in your mercy, Hear our prayer.
