Lord, we thank
you for Bill and Melinda Gates’ recent decision to divest from G4S, a security
company complicit in the violence of the Israeli occupation and the illegal
detention of Palestinians. Please impart equal boldness on others who have been
invested in the Israeli occupation, and let the international community strive
for the full implementation of human rights law in Israel and Palestine. Lord
in your mercy…
Lord, we pray
for the city of Jerusalem, that its people may act with peace, love, and unity toward
one another, and that they work to counteract the forces of division and
occupation which define the city. May the people of
Jerusalem be inspired to work toward justice for all. Lord in your mercy…
Gracious God,
please protect the fishermen, farmers, and laborers in Gaza who, through their
work, face increasing levels of violence from the Israeli military. Please
bless them with productivity in the midst of hardship and blockade, and give us
all the strength to stand against the occupation and demand freedom for your
people. Lord in your mercy…

for your blessings on Sabeel; please be in our work, our events, and our lives
outside of the office. We ask particular blessing on Sabeel Jerusalem’s weekly
programs and meetings, and Sabeel Nazareth’s meeting with Machsom Watch, a
women’s meeting, and a youth excavation program with a visiting Australian
