Lord, we decry
the systematic abuse of children in Israeli detention, thinking particularly of
four young girls in Hebron accused of stealing fruit and held for several hours
last week, and a 10-year-old boy assaulted and detained in Hebron on Sunday.
Embolden us to stand with the vulnerable and oppressed, never forgetting the
innocence lost in the midst of occupation and seeking out the dignity in those
around us. Lord in your mercy…
The Palestinian
unity government ministers were announced this week, and though there are still
many conflicts to resolve, it appears that the reconciliation between political
parties is progressing. We pray that as this deal grows more solid, the unity
of the Palestinian people grows as well, bringing the entire society toward
justice and mutual understanding. Lord in your mercy…
God of justice,
please make your presence felt among the many Palestinian prisoners in
administrative detention, especially those who have been hunger-striking in
protest of their detentionwithout charge or trial. Please let their actions
draw attention to the injustices committed by the Israeli government in order
for us to enact change and seek a society which values all of its members
equally. Lord in your mercy…
Lord, we praise
you for the work Sabeel has been able to do through you, and we ask that you
continue to bless our programs, activities, and staff in the coming week. We
ask particular blessing for Sabeel Nazareth’s youth meeting and a visit by a
Swedish group, and for Sabeel Jerusalem’s programs.Lord
in your mercy…
