English Wave of prayer Aug 31st - Sep. 4th

Sliman Mansour, the beloved Palestinian artist, passed away last week at the age of 79. His art was a powerful symbol of Palestinian hope, resilience, and humanity. Sabeel mourns his loss and remembers with deep gratitude his friendship and longstanding connection with Sabeel. Sliman generously shared his art for Sabeel’s publications and work, helping to bring the beauty, dignity, and enduring spirit of the Palestinian people to wider audiences.
Lord of all creation, we give gratitude to the life and witness of Sliman Mansour. We ask that you bring comfort to his community and loved ones. Guide us, oh Lord, to continue the legacy of Sliman’s creative resistance and witness. We pray that the good seeds Sliman planted in our lives continue to grow and bear fruit in our movement for liberation and justice.

Through grassroots pressure and mobilization from Canadian activists, Canada recently barred Jerusalem Deputy Mayor Arieh King from entering the country, deactivating his Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). King is an extremist Israeli settler whose record includes efforts to dispossess Palestinians from their homes in occupied East Jerusalem and inflammatory anti-Palestinian rhetoric. Activists are continuing to demand accountability, asking Canada to take concrete action by sanctioning illegal Israeli settlements.
Holy God, we are thankful for all who act as a testament to your love, working like persistent widows before unjust judges. We continue to pray for wisdom, courage, and strength supplemented by your Holy Spirit as we work for accountability and justice from our leaders and institutions.

FOSNA recently finished a 10 day Speaking Tour with Huwaida Arraf. 3 events from the speaking tour were recorded live and are now made available for people to watch and hear from the prophetic work being done around Palestinian liberation. Videos can be accessed at fosna.org/huwaida.
Liberating Savior, we are reminded of your presence through the efforts of our friends who carry out the mission of Sabeel and Palestinian liberation theology. Help us to amplify the message of peace, justice, and hope to all people through creative and steadfast ways.

A news team working for NBC and a Palestinian woman were injured in an attack by masked Israeli settlers near the occupied West Bank village of Jalud. The crew was interviewing the woman who had been driven from her home by settlers. In another incident, settlers kidnapped an international activist.
Holy God, we are deeply sad and afraid of the increasing settler violence in the West Bank. Illuminate to the world that settler violence and state violence are intertwined. As the realities around us are collapsing, give us faith that you see all evil deeds and will deliver the oppressed from their suffering and fear. Give us courage, oh Lord, to confront injustice and be witnesses of your love.

Officials at Gaza’s Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital say cancer medicines have completely run out across the besieged enclave, after an Israeli strike damaged the facility’s water tanks, laboratory equipment, and storage areas in Deir el-Balah.
Good God, we cry out to you amidst the man-made health crisis in Gaza.
We pray for all who are sick and suffering, especially those with cancer and serious illnesses. Lord, bring an end to the violence and suffering in our land. May all who commit war crimes and violations of human dignity be held accountable. Lead us toward a just and lasting peace, guided by your love.
Lord, in your mercy... hear our prayer.
We join the World Council of Churches in their prayers for the people of Cape Verde, The Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Senegal.
