Merciful God, we lament and decry the continued dispossession of the people of Palestine, and particularly remember the residents of BeitJala and those who live or work near the Cremisan Monastery. At the time of this writing, we await a decision on the final appeal against the proposed route of the separation wall which would separate people from land, Christians from their place of worship, and represent nothing more than an annexation of Palestinian land to Israel. Lord, grant us strength for the difficulties of the future and healing for the wrongs of the past. Lord in your mercy…

Since a close election in October, the Arab city of Nazareth has faced divisions within the Palestinian community. Combined with new Israeli policies which categorize Arab citizens as either Christian or Muslim and a campaign to require Christians to enlist in the military, the Palestinian community in Israel has endured many threats to its unity. Lord, we pray that this animosity ceases and that all people are empowered to stand for justice and nonviolent resistance. Lord in your mercy…

憐れみ深い神よ、イスラエルがパレスチナの人々の土地、財産を奪い続けていることを、わたしたちは嘆き、非難します。殊に、ベイト・ジャラの住民と、クレミザン修道院の近隣で生活している人、働いている人のことを覚えます。この祈りの言葉を準備している今、分離壁の設置計画地域についての最終上訴に対する決定が宣告されようとしています。計画通りに分離壁が作られれば、人々が土地から切り離され、信徒たちが礼拝堂から引き離されます。それはパレスチナの土地をイスラエルに併合することに他なりません。主よ、待ち受ける困難に立ち向かう力を、過去の不法からの癒しを、私たちにお与えください。主よ、御憐れみにより、私たちの祈りをおききください。

Dieu de miséricorde, nous déplorons et condamnons les expropriations continuelles imposées aux populations de Palestine et nous pensons en particulier aux habitants de Beit Jala et à ceux qui vivent ou travaillent près du Monastère de Cremisan. Au moment où nous écrivons, nous atttendons une décision à la suite du dernier appel contre le tracé du mur de séparation qui va séparer des gens de leurs terres, des chrétiens de leurs lieux de culte et qui ne représente rien d’autre que l’annexion à Israël d’un territoire palestinien. Seigneur donne-nous la force pour affronter les difficultés futures et l’apaisement pour le mal subi dans le passé. Seigneur, dans ta miséricorde, entends notre prière.

Suite à une élection extrêmement serrée en Octobre, la ville arabe de Nazareth connait des divisions au sein de la communauté palestinienne. Du fait à la fois d’une nouvelle politique israélienne qui classe les citoyens arabes soit en chrétiens soit en musulmans et d’une campagne pour inciter les chrétiens à s’engager dans l’armée, la communauté palestinienne d’Israël a subi de nombreuses menaces à son unité. Seigneur nous te prions pour que cette querelle prenne fin et pour que tous les gens aient la force de prendre parti pour la justice et la résistance non-violente. Seigneur, dans ta miséricorde, entends notre prière.

Seigneur, nous te prions encore pour le succès des pourparlers de paix Genève II. Nous te prions pour ce soit une chance de paix véritable et pour que les dirigeants et les gens s’efforcent de protéger les droits et les libertés de tous les Syriens. Lord, we pray for the success of the Geneva II peace talks, aimed at ending the drawn-out Syrian civil war. Let your presence be felt in the proceedings and allow these leaders to agree to a solution which brings a just peace to Syria and the region. Lord, we pray also for the people of Iraq, especially those living in places where violence has gained control of their daily lives. Please break this cycle of violence, comfort those who grieve for their loved ones, and allow peace to take root across the country. Lord in your mercy…

Merciful God, we give you thanks that some relief has finally come to the refugees in Yarmouk camp in Syria. And Lord, we ask that you protect the refugees from future involvement in the fighting, as they are already caught in the middle of the war and deniedthe right to return to their homes. With the events of the past few days, many people are beginning to wonder if violence will again escalate between Israel and the Gaza Strip since the ceasefire agreement November 2012. Lord, we condemn this senseless violence and pray for protection for the people caught in the crossfire. Bring an end to the injustice and usher in your way of peace. Lord in your mercy…

Seigneur, nous te prions pour le succès des pourparlers de paix Genève II pour mettre fin à la guerre civile syrienne qui se prolonge. Fais ressentir ta présence dans leur déroulement afin de permettre aux dirigeants rassemblés dans ce cadre de se mettre d’accord sur une solution de paix juste pour la Syrie et la région. Seigneur, nous te prions aussi pour la population de l’Irak, en particulier pour les gens qui vivent dans des endroits où la violence est le lot de leur vie quotidienne. Daigne briser ce cycle de violence, consoler ceux qui pleurent des êtres chers et permettre à la paix de s’implanter dans l’ensemble du pays. Seigneur, dans ta miséricorde, entends notre prière.

Dieu de miséricorde, nous te remercions pour le début de soulagement enfin apporté aux réfugiés du camp de Yarmouk en Syrie. Et, Seigneur, nous te demandons de protéger ces réfugiés de toute implication future dans les combats, alors qu’ils sont déjà pris au milieu de la guerre et qu’on leur refuse tout droit de retour dans leurs foyers. Seigneur, dans ta miséricorde, entends notre prière.

Avec les évènements de ces derniers jours, beaucoup de gens commencent à se demander si l’on ne va pas assister à une nouvelle escalade de la violence entre Israël et la Bande de Gaza depuis l’accord de cessez-le-feu de novembre 2012. Seigneur, nous condamnons cette violence insensée et te prions de protéger les gens pris dans les échanges de feu. Mets un terme à l’injustice pour faire advenir ta paix. Seigneur, dans ta miséricorde, entends notre prière.

Merciful God, we continue to pray for the refugees of the Yarmouk refugee camp in Syria. The past few days have seen their situation deteriorate even further, as many who were supposed to leave for medical treatment were stopped from leaving and aid groups trying to reach the camp were turned away by fighting. In this desperate situation, we trust in your strength and mercy, and plead for you to open a path so that help may come to these people. Lord in your mercy…

Tensions continue to rise in Palestine, seen in frequent protests across the West Bank and frequent incursions into Palestinian towns by the Israeli army.While some protest against the U.N. Relief and Works Agency for decreasing its aid, some nonviolently resist attacks by Israeli settlers, and some continue to demonstrate against the separation wall, we recognize that we must draw our strength and courage from you as we yearn for justice to be done.Please empower those engaging in nonviolent resistance and inspire us to continue working for peace in this land.
