Levons  les yeux vers les hauteurs d’où vient notre secours. Prions pour les réfugiés syriens qui fuient vers les collines et les régions de pays voisins, en particulier le Liban et la Jordanie. Tandis que le nombre des familles qui fuient la violence augmente de jour en jour, prions pour les organisations qui travaillent à assurer leurs besoins de base. Seigneur, dans Ta miséricorde, entends notre prière.

Prions pour que les relations conflictuelles entre Israël et l’Iran se calment et pour que les deux pays trouvent une solution à leurs différends politiques sans recourir à la guerre. Seigneur, dans Ta miséricorde, entends notre prière.

Prions pour Yang Yoo-Mo, en grève de la faim pour la préservation de Jeju, une ile coréenne. Sous le nom officiel de “Ile de la paix mondiale”, Jéju a été en 1948 le lieu d’un massacre de plus de 30.000 civils au cours d’un soulèvement démocratique. Actuellement, le projet de construction d’une base navale menace la population de l’ile ainsi que son écosystème terrestre et marin. Un appel international à “sauver l’ile de Jeju” a rencontré le succès dans le passé récent, mais Yang Yoo-Mo va persévérer et la protestation sociale non-violente se poursuivre jusqu’à ce qu’il devienne clair que cette terre et son environnement marin ne seront pas détruits. Prions pour la sécurité du voyage du directeur de Sabeel Naim Ateek qui se rend en Norvège, dans le cadre d’un programme des Amis de Sabeel de Norvège. Prions pour le renforcement des liens anciens et pour l’étabissement de nouveaux contacts. Seigneur, dans Ta miséricorde, entends notre prière.   

Samedi, Sabeel accueillera  le pèlerinage du Chemin de Croix Contemporain pour les jeunes adultes de la région. Prions pour que ce vécu d’un évangile contextualisé enrichisse la foi de la jeunesse palestinienne. Seigneur, dans Ta miséricorde, entends notre prière.

We pray for Bethlehem Bible College, its staff, and especially the organizers of the upcoming “Christ at the Checkpoint” conference.  Riddled with scathing and inaccurate criticism from right-wing Jewish and Christian Zionists, the grinding work of conference preparation continues. We pray that God would be sovereign over every detail of the conference, bringing people from all walks of life together to hear the Good News!  Lord, in your mercy…

We pray for the congregation of the Narkis Street Baptist Church as they recover from the recent offensive graffiti they found on their building last week. The attack on them is the latest in a series that bears the slogan “Price Tag” and has targeted primarily Muslim places of worship, Christian institutions, and leftist organizations.  Christians are increasingly feeling under pressure in Jerusalem; priests who pass through the Jewish quarter report near-daily incidents of being spat upon.  We pray that the people of the holy city of Jerusalem will be able to respect one another’s faith. We pray for upcoming Sabeel programming. On March 1^st, Sabeel Jerusalem and Al-Liqa Center will host an interfaith gathering for the series “Living Together,” in Nablus.  Sabeel Jerusalem will have a children’s program about Lent.  And we pray for staff as they prepare for this, and for the upcoming Swedish Sabeel conference, March 25^th - 29^th in Bethlehem.  Lord, in your mercy…

We give thanks for the work of volunteers at Sabeel. Particularly this week we are grateful for the work of Marlijn from the Netherlands, and Olivia from Sweden. They contributed an immense amount of creativity and positive energy to the Sabeel Jerusalem office during their stints. ベツレヘム聖書大学とその職員、特に近々開かれる会議「検問所で​のキリスト」を準備している人々のために祈ります。ユダヤ教徒右​派やクリスチャン・シオニストからの酷評や見当違いな批判に悩ま​されつつも、会議のための骨の折れる準備が続いています。会議の​細かなところまでが神の主権の下に置かれ、福音を聞くために社会​のあらゆるところから人々が集められますように。主よ、御憐れみ​により、この祈りをお聞きください。

先週、侮蔑的な落書きが見つかったナルキス・ストリート・バプテ​スト教会のために祈ります。それは「プライス・タグ（入植の妨げ​に代価を）」のスローガンのもとに行われた一連の攻撃の直近のも​のです。イスラムの礼拝所、キリスト教団体a、左翼団体が的にされ​ています。エルサレムでクリスチャンはますます圧迫を感じていま​す。司祭たちからはほとんど毎日のようにユダヤ人地区を通行中に唾を吐きかけられたという報告があります​。どうかエルサレムの聖なる町に住む人々が互いの信仰を尊重しあ​えるようになりますように。主よ、御憐れみにより、この祈りをお​聞きください。

We cry out with the families of the seven children killed in the horrendous traffic accident, near Jabaa’ checkpoint last week.  We are thankful for the individual acts of courage by teachers and eye-witnesses who rushed to the scene. Nearby villagers threw water on the burning bus, as the ambulances were delayed by traffic congestion caused by the military checkpoint at nearby Qalandia. We pray for the survivors, many of who sustained critical injuries.  The kindergarten class was on its way to a field trip, when their bus collided with a petroleum tanker.  Lord, in your mercy…

The global day of struggle to Open Shuhada Street in occupied Hebron/Al-Khalil occurs this weekend.  The street, formerly a main street for Palestinian economic life in the city, now lays desolate…closed by the Israeli military for security reasons that benefit the growing number of settlers in the area. Our prayers join the shout of millions to Open Shuhada Street again!  Lord, in your mercy…

The bad news of settlements expanding from Area C (under Israeli civil and security control) into Area B (under Palestinian Authority Civil Administration and Israeli Security control) coincides with increasing eviction orders for Palestinian families and homesteads all over Area C.  We remember in particular the Nassar family at the Tent of Nations, who received an eviction notice from the Israelis last week. The family has been in court for over 20 years, and they have the property papers going back to the Ottoman era. The high court in Israel recognizes the family as the rightful owners, but the Israeli military court doesn’t recognize their ownership.  Lord, in your mercy…

We pray for the Sabeel programs in Nazareth and Jerusalem that ready the hearts and minds of local Christians for Lent.  In Jerusalem, an Orthodox priest will speak on the Tricodion, in Open Forum style. In Nazareth, a Roman Catholic priest will explain the will and strength needed for fasting.  Upcoming Lenten programs also feature a Sabeel women’s event in Jericho and a trip for families to Nablus.  We pray for safety and enrichment. ジャバーの検問所近くで先週起こった恐ろしい交通事故のために命を奪われた7人の子どもの家族と共に私たちはうめき、叫びます。現場に駆けつけた教師や目撃者たち個々人の勇気ある行動を神に感謝します。近くの村人たちは燃えるバスに水をかけました。救急車の到着はカランディア近くの軍の検問所のために引き起こされた交通渋滞のために遅れました。生き残った人々のために祈ります。彼らの多くは重傷を負っています。石油タンクローリーと衝突したバスは、日帰り旅行の幼稚園の子どもたちを乗せていました。主よ、御憐れみにより、私たちの祈りをお聞きください。

今週末、占領下のヘブロン／アル・カリルで、シュハダ通り開放のために闘う国際デーがもたれます。この通りは、以前はこの町のパレスチナ人の経済生活の中心となっていた通りでした。今は、この地域で数を増した入植者のために治安を理由にイスラエル軍によって封鎖され、ひとけがなくなっています。シュハダ通りを再び開放するよう求める何百万人もの人々の叫びに祈りを合わせます。主よ、御憐れみにより、私たちの祈りをお聞きください。

入植地がエリアC（イスラエルの行政と治安管理下にある地域）からエリアB（パレスチナ自治政府の行政とイスラエルの治安管理下にある地域）に広げられるという悪い知らせと時を合わせるようにして、エリアC全域でパレスチナ人の家族と財産の立ち退き命令が増加しています。私たちは、ことに、ベツレヘム郊外のテント・オブ・ネイションズ（万国の幕屋）に住むナサール一家のことを覚えます。彼らは先週、立ち退き命令を受けました。一家は法廷で20年以上も闘ってきました。彼らの持つ所有権登録証はオスマン帝国時代にまで遡るものです。イスラエルの高裁は一家が正当な所有者であることを認めていますが、イスラエルの軍法廷はその所有権を認めていません。主よ、御憐れみにより、私たちの祈りをお聞きください。

※「トリオディオン（the Triodion）」：これは正教の祈祷書で、正教の教会暦のある期間に代替で用いることのできる聖餐式文および他の礼拝の式文を収めたもの。受苦日の四週前の日曜日（放蕩息子の日曜日）に始まり、聖週の土曜日に終わる。トリオディオンは「放蕩息子の日曜日」と「聖なる過越の日（復活日）」の間の期間のことも指す。この名称は、この期間に、朝の礼拝（Matins）でのカノン（「三歌斎経」）を、普段は九つの頌歌（ode）のところ、三つしか用いないことに由来している。九つの頌歌は各々の祝日に合わせたものが用いられる。カノンが用いられるようになったのは、クレタの聖アンデレに始まるとされる。カノンの作者として他の有名な人は、メロドス、ダマスカスの聖ヨハネ、スタジオンの聖テオドールである。

We pray for Khader Adnan, who is near death, and being held without charge in an Israeli jail.  He began a hunger strike over 60 days ago, to draw attention to the injustices against Palestinians, especially within the Israeli prison system. An Israeli judge recently placed him on four more months of administrative detention, without a trial.  We pray for Khader Adnan, his family, and the thousands of other Palestinians held in Israeli jails.  Lord, in your mercy…

We are grateful for the success of the Sabeel young adult programs on Saturday, by both Nazareth and Jerusalem branches.  They infused hope and joy in the lives of over 200 youth, who face the grinding daily reality of occupation.  We thank God for the staff and volunteers who organized the events and we pray that both programs will continue to grow.  Lord, in your mercy…

A recent bill for greater tax breaks to Zionist organizations was introduced in the Knesset this week. This tax reduction encourages sponsorship for the building of new settlements in East Jerusalem and the West Bank. If passed, this law would essentially provide tax cuts for land theft, colonization, repression, and ethnic cleansing.  We pray that this bill does not pass.  Lord, in your mercy…

Sabeel is organizing an ecumenical prayer service on Friday.  The prayers will focus on the difficulties facing the people of the Middle East, and we will pray specifically for the complicated situation in Syria. We pray that the ecumenical service will increase our empathy for one another, strengthen our resolve for positive nonviolent action, and deepen our faith.  Lord, in your mercy...

告訴されないままイスラエルの牢獄に拘留されて死の床にあるカデル・アドナンのために祈ります。彼はイスラエルの監禁制度におけるパレスチナ人に対する不正義に注意を引くため、60日以上前にハンガーストライキを始めました。最近、イスラエルの法廷は、公正な裁判なしに、彼に対してさらに4ヶ月間の行政拘留を決めました。私たちは、カデル・アドナンとその家族、そしてイスラエルの牢獄にいる他の何千人ものパレスチナ人のために祈ります。主よ、御憐れみにより、この祈りをお聞きください。

今週、クネセット（国会）でシオニスト団体にこれまで以上の税控除を認める法案が提出されました。この減税は、東エルサレムと西岸地区での新たな入植地建設の資金助成を促すものです。もしこの法案が通るならば、それは実質的に、土地の強奪、植民地化、弾圧、民族浄化のための税控除を与えることになります。どうかこの法案が可決されませんように。主よ、御憐れみにより、この祈りをお聞きください。

サビールは金曜日にエキュメニカルな祈りの集いを開きます。中東の人々が直面している困難、ことにシリアの複雑な状況のために祈ることになります。どうかこのエキュメニカルな祈りの集いを通して、互いへの思いやりを増し、積極的な非暴力行動への決意を強め、信仰を深めることができますように。主よ、御憐れみにより、この祈りをお聞きください。

上記の祈りで覚えられているカデル・アドナンからの手紙を紹介します。彼は12月17日に行政拘留を受け、ハンガーストライキを続けています。水以外はとらず、もう体重を42キロも減らしたとのこと。

イスラエルは過去11年間で2万件以上の行政拘留を行ってきました。「行政拘留」は、通常の「逮捕」と異なり、令状なしに執行されます。そもそも何の容疑で拘留されるのかも不明のままに牢獄に入れられるので、裁判を受けることもできません。

以下、手紙です：

「私は魂を全能なる神に献げ、この闘いを始めた。正義が虚偽に勝利するまで断固として続けるつもりだ。私の尊厳と、私の民の尊厳を守っているのであって、無駄なことをしているのではない。

イスラエルの占領は、我が民に対して、特に囚人に対して、極端なところにまで来た。私は、尋問者から、何の理由もなく、侮辱を受け、撲たれ、嫌がらせを受けた。だから私は神に誓った。私や何百人もの囚人仲間がその餌食となっている行政拘留なる政策に対して闘うことを。

私は手を縛られ、足をベッドに括り付けられ、牢獄の看守に囲まれて、病院にいる。私にできる唯一のことは私の魂を神に献げることだ。正義と公正は最後には専制と抑圧に勝利すると信じている。

私は自分個人のためではなく、世界の人々と国際社会が傍観する前で最も基本的な人権を奪われている何千人もの囚人のために、占領者に立ち向かっている。国際社会と国連が、囚人を助け、イスラエルに国際的な人権を尊重するようにさせ、囚人を人間ではないかのように扱うのをやめさせる番だ。」
