In these last weeks of Lent we humbly remember Jesus’ suffering, commitment to nonviolence, and love.  We pray for the ecumenical event hosted by Sabeel Nazareth focused on the theme of repentance and recognition, and an Easter program this weekend.  May these programs spark deep spiritual renewal for the Palestinian Christian community in Israel. Lord in your mercy…

We thank God for the ongoing success of the conference organized by Sabeel, Bilda, and Diakonia in Bethlehem.  It is a week full of events, speakers and fellowship. We pray that the conference results in concrete action back in Sweden; that the relationships formed will truly further assist in the work of liberation for all the people of Israel-Palestine. Lord in your mercy…

Wednesday, March 21^st is Mother’s Day, in Palestine.  We praise God for all of the mothers, especially for Palestinian mothers who live under occupation; Lord knows they endure more than their fair share of trouble, often without recognition of their consistent efforts for the survival of their families and communities.  We give thanks for all people who nurture one another toward greater understanding, strength, and love of life.  Lord in your mercy…

Last Saturday, at the age of 88 years, Egypt’s Coptic Christian community lost their leader, Pope Shenouda, III, who served 41 years as the spiritual head of the Coptic Church.  We thank you for his faithfulness and love of his church.  We pray for those who mourn his passing.  We also pray for healing in the church as new leadership comes forth.  We pray for all churches in the Middle East, especially for those who continue to be faithful in the midst of suffering and wars.   Lord in your mercy…

We pray for the Sunnyvale Friends of Sabeel North America conference.  The theme of the gathering this weekend is “Breaking the Barriers to a Just Peace in Israel/Palestine.” We do indeed pray that the barriers would be broken…open to live in new ways that yield the fruit of a just peace in the Holy Land and everywhere.  Lord in your mercy…

We pray for Sabeel Nazareth’s programs this week, as they cultivate community in the Galilee during this season.  Following their Mother’s Day program, they will host an Easter dinner for young adults.  We give thanks for the opportunity to celebrate in the midst of lives of difficulty.  Lord in your mercy…

We pray for Sabeel’s upcoming Swedish conference which is also sponsored by Bilda and Diakonia.  As more than 100 participants, speakers and those behind the scenes make final arrangements; we pray for safe travels, smooth entry and blessed experiences throughout their 10 days of preconference and conference encounters.  We pray that each person involved in the conference will grow in faith and knowledge.  May they be challenged to make a difference with what they experience and learn.  Lord in your mercy…

3月21日はパレスチナでは「母の日」です。全ての母親たち、殊に占領下に生きるパレスチナの母親たちのゆえに、あなたを賛美します。家族と共同体の生存のために力を尽くしていることが認められることもほとんどないままに、彼女たちが応分以上の苦労に耐えていることを、主はご存知です。命の理解と力と愛を増すために慈しみ合う全ての人々のことを神に感謝します。主よ、御憐れみにより、この祈りをお聞きください。

去る土曜日、コプトの共同体は指導者、教皇シェヌーダ三世を失いました。師は41年間にわたってエジプトのコプト教会の霊的な頭として仕えました。88歳でした。師の教会への忠実と愛を、あなたに感謝します。師の逝去を悼む人々のために祈ります。また、新しい指導者を戴くにあたって、教会に癒しが与えられますように祈ります。中東の全ての諸教会のため、殊に苦難と戦争のただ中にあって忠実に歩みを続ける人々のために祈ります。主よ、御憐れみにより、この祈りをお聞きください。

サビールの友・北アメリカのサニービル会議のために祈ります。今週末のこの集まりのテーマは「イスラエル／パレスチナにおける正義に立つ平和のために障壁を破る」です。聖地において、また全ての地において、正義に立つ平和の実を結ぶ新しい仕方で生きることが可能となるように、どうか障壁が壊されますように。主よ、御憐れみにより、この祈りをお聞きください。

We pray for the people of Japan, as they continue the process of cleanup and society-building after the earthquake that happened one year ago this week.  Long after the media cameras have turned to other crises, the slow work of re-integration continues.  We are grateful for the beauty of new relationships and intergenerational bonds that have emerged from the mountains of mangled debris.  Lord in your mercy…

Gaza is on our minds this week, and we lift the people there up to God.  We pray that the recently brokered cease-fire will hold and that the siege will end. Sabeel Nazareth will gather the community for an ecumenical prayer service this Saturday for Gaza and all the people of the Middle East.  We pray for peace, access to human rights and basic needs for the people of Gaza and elsewhere in the region.  Lord in your mercy…

We pray for the Sacramento Friends of Sabeel North America conference.  The conference theme is “A Time for Justice: Supporting Human Rights in Palestine-Israel.”  We pray for inspiration for attendees, and patience for organizers. We are so grateful for the faithful and committed work of our Friends, near and far.  Lord in your mercy…

In response to the Biblical call to “Come and See,” Swedish Christians are preparing to come to a conference organized by Diakonia, Bilda and Sabeel in Israel-Palestine at the end of March.  Specifically this week, we pray for each conference speaker as they prepare their remarks for this week-long event.  May God guide and inspire them as they discern exactly what to say, and how to say it so that it will minister to attendees.  Lord in your mercy…

１年前に起きた地震の後、瓦礫や汚染の除去と社会の建設を続けている日本の人々のために祈ります。メディアのカメラが他の災害に向けられてから長く経ちますが、社会再統合のための時間のかかる働きが続けられています。滅茶苦茶なな瓦礫の山の中から生まれた新しい関係と世代を超えた絆の美しさを神に感謝します。主よ、御憐れみにより、私たちの祈りをお聞きください。

今週はことにガザを心に留め、ガザの人々のために祈ります。結ばれたばかりの停戦協定が保たれ、攻囲が終えられますように。土曜日にサビール・ナザレは地域の人々を集め、ガザと中東の全ての人々のためにエキュメニカルな祈りの集いを開きます。どうかガザと中東各地の人々に平和が与えられ、人権が保障され、生活の基本的な必要が満たされますように。主よ、御憐れみにより、私たちの祈りをお聞きください。

サクラメントで開かれるサビールの友・北アメリカの会議のために祈ります。「正義のための時：パレスチナ・イスラエルにおける人権を支える」というテーマが掲げられています。どうか参加者に創造的な刺激を、主催者に忍耐をお与えください。遠近の友の忠実で真摯な働きを神に感謝します。主よ、御憐れみにより、私たちの祈りをお聞きください。

Prions pour la population du Japon qui poursuit le processus de nettoyage et de reconstruction sociale après le tremblement de terre d’il y a un an cette semaine. Longtemps après que les caméras des médias se sont tournées vers d’autres situations de crise, le lent travail de réparation continue. Nous sommes reconnaissants pour la beauté des nouvelles relations et des liens intergénérations qui se sont manifestés à partir des montagnes de débris. Seigneur, dans Ta miséricorde, entends notre prière. 

C’est Gaza qui occupe nos esprits cette semaine, et nous recommendons à Dieu les gens qui y habitent. Prions pour que le cessez-le-feu qui vient d’être négocié tienne et pour que le siège prenne fin. Sabeel Nazareth réunira la communauté pour un service de prière œcuménique ce samedi à l’intention de Gaza et de toutes les populations du Moyen Orient. Prions pour la paix, l’accès aux droits humains et aux besoins de base pour les gens de Gaza et d’ailleurs dans la région. Seigneur, dans Ta miséricorde, entends notre prière.

Prions pour la conférence à Sacramento des Amis de Sabeel d’Amérique du Nord. Le sujet de la conférence est : “Un temps pour la justice : soutien aux droits humains en Israël-Palestine.” Prions pour l’inspiration des participants et la patience des organisateurs. Nous sommes tellement reconnaissants pour la fidélité et l’engagement de nos amis, proches et lointains. Seigneur, dans Ta miséricorde, entends notre prière.

En réponse à l’appel biblique “Venez et voyez”, des chrétiens suédois se préparent à venir à une conférence organisée par Diakonia, Bilda et Sabeel en Israël-Palestine fin mars. Cette semaine en particulier, prions pour chacun des intervenants à la conférence qui préparent leurs textes pour cet évènement d’une semaine. Puisse Dieu les guider et les inspirer pour qu’ils sachent exactement quoi dire, et comment le dire pour que cela réponde aux attentes des participants. Seigneur, dans Ta miséricorde, entends notre prière.
