Lord, the Middle East is still reeling from the effects of the massive winter storm which recently hit the region. While clean-up begins, we pray for your protection over all the refugees who have been disproportionately affected by the storm, and we pray for the people of Gaza who face not only the crisis of severe weather but also an unblinking Israeli blockade. Seigneur, le Moyen Orient subit encore les effets de la terrible tempête d’hiver qui a frappé récemment la région. Tandis que le travail de nettoyage commence, nous implorons ta protection pour tous les réfugiés qui ont, beaucoup plus que les autres, souffert de la tempête, et nous te prions pour la population de Gaza qui subit en plus du mauvais temps un blocus israélien qui ne faiblit pas. Nous te prions de bénir tous ces gens qui n’ont ni pouvoir, ni chauffage, ni eau, ni abri. Seigneur, dans ta miséricorde, entends notre prière.

Dieu de bonté, nous te prions de bénir les actions de Sabeel pour cette semaine, en particulier le repas de Noël. Puisse-t-il être un temps d’amitié, de joie et de communauté en ce moment où nous nous préparons à célébrer la venue de ton fils. Daigne bénir les activités de Sabeel Nazareth et son programme pour cette semaine. Seigneur, dans ta miséricorde, entends notre prière.

Dieu de pitié, nous te remercions chaque jour pour le don que tu nous fais de ton fils. Puissions-nous le célébrer avec ferveur, vivre joyeusement, et donner généreusement, et puissse cette façon de célébrer se poursuivre au-delà de Noël et pendant la nouvelle année. Daigne bénir nos familles, nos amis, nos voisins et les étrangers qui nous entourent et fais que nous soyons une bénédiction pour nos communautés. 主よ、中東はすさまじい冬の嵐の余波にまだよろめいています。後片付けが始まりますが、他の人々よりも冬の嵐による影響を大きく受けた難民生活を送るすべての人々、また厳しい天候による危機だけでなく(*)、依然として続くイスラエルによる封鎖に直面しているガザの人々を、どうかお守りください。電気、暖房、水、住まいのないすべての人々を祝福してください。主よ、御憐れみにより、わたしたちの祈りをお聞きください。

恵みに富む神よ、今週行われるサビールのプログラム、ことにクリスマス晩餐会を祝福してください。み子の来臨を祝う備えをするわたしたちの、よき交わりの時、喜びの時、共同体の時としてください。また、サビール・ナザレで今週行われる活動、プログラムを祝福してください。主よ、御憐れみにより、わたしたちの祈りをお聞きください。

憐れみ深い神よ、わたしたちはあなたから与えられた贈り物、み子のゆえに日々感謝を捧げます。どうかわたしたちが思慮をもって祝い、喜びをもって生活し、惜しみなく与えることができますように。そして、この祝う姿勢をクリスマスを終えて新年に入っても保つことができますように。どうかわたしたちの家族、友人、隣人、そして周りにいる見知らぬ人々を祝福してください。そしてわたしたちを、わたしたちの共同体への祝福とならしめてください。主よ、御憐れみにより、わたしたちの祈りをお聞きください。

(*) ガザでは、洪水によって1500軒が損壊し、1万人以上の人々が家で生活できなくなって避難生活をしています。寒さのために幼児がひとり死亡し、また100人あまりの人々が洪水のために負傷したということです。

平和と機会を与える神、私たちの創造者、贖い主よ、憐れみと赦し、新しい出発を求めて、みもとにまいります。

善をもって悪を乗り越えることをせず、私たちは善が傷つけられるのを傍観してきました。

どうか、私たちの世界におけるその栄えのために平和が新しい機会を得られるよう、助けをお与えください。

わたしたちに勇気を与えて、邪な考えや行いを明らかにし、真実を語ることができるようにしてください。わたしたちは強者の権利、軍隊の力、抑圧する権力を信じません。わたしたちは、すべての人の平等な価値、非暴力の力、正義に基づく連帯を信じます。

どうか聖霊が私たちの心と思いと共にあって、平和の道を教え、私たちの心があなたの憐れみの支配する場所となりますように。

正義の神よ、わたしたちをあなたの平和の道具とし、私たちがみ心を行って、正義に立つ未来を創ることができるようにしてください。

Merciful God, while we praise you for the return of rain to this land, we also pray for your protection over those in the path of winter storms across the world. From people in Texas, to refugees in camps in Lebanon, Jordan, and Turkey, to the people of Gaza wading through flooded streets, we pray your blessing over anyone affected by these harsh conditions. Lord, we watch as the American negotiators continue to acquiesce to every Israeli demand during this “peace process” and cannot help but feel dismay and frustration at the proposed deals. Please give strength to President Abbas to stand up for the Palestinian people, and empower those who stand in solidarity with the Palestinians to again voice their support and speak truth to power. Gracious God, we ask for your presence with the family of Wajih Wajdi al-Ramahi, the 14-year-old boy from al-Jalazone refugee camp who was shot and killed by an Israeli sniper this week. In the wake of such a heinous act, we need the comfort which can only come from your peace which surpasses all understanding. Lord in your mercy…

Lord, while we often hear of the expanding Israeli occupation and settlement of the West Bank, events of this past week remind us to pray for Palestinians within the state of Israel as well. As the Israeli government continues to expel Bedouins from their villages in the Negev through the Prawer Plan, the World Zionist Organization plans to create and expand Jewish towns in the Galilee in order to Judaize the area. Gracious God, we give you thanks for the success of the International Conference and for the joy of hosting so many participants from across the world. We pray that they may take what they have seen and heard while in this place and bear truthful witness to the injustice against the Palestinian people. And as we at Sabeel continue our work in Palestine, please bless our upcoming programs, including an Advent program in Bethlehem on Friday and a joint youth program with Sabeel Nazareth in Jericho on Saturday.
