Lord,
we pray for your continued blessing on Sabeel’s global young adult festival,
“Moving Mountains, Reshaping the World,” which started this week and brought
together 150 young adults from as many as 38 different countries and 11
different time zones. We pray during
this exciting week that the young adults continue to get to know each other as
they form a beautiful community of new friendships. We also lift up thanks for their volunteer
work in Palestinian communities, as they rebuild, renovate and break ground. Lord,
we pray these youth inspire others with their eagerness to learn and are able
to go back to their communities and share what they have learned at the
conference and commit themselves to the work for justice and peace. We pray that their stories will bring seeds
of change and messages of hope. Lord, in
your mercy…
God,
we also pray for the stability of the whole Middle East region, especially
Egypt, which is experiencing ongoing protests and renewed violence following
the first anniversary of Muhummad Morsy’s assumption of office. We continue to pray for the people of Syria
and for peace throughout the region, especially Palestine and Israel. Lord, in your
mercy…
Finally,
we pray alongside the World Council of Churches for the countries of Bolivia,
Chile and Peru. Lord, in your mercy…
