Palestinians
around the country and around the world commemorated Land Day this past Sunday,
protesting Israel’s continued and escalating confiscation of Palestinian land.
We pray that Israel would stop this heinous violation of Palestinian rights—in
the Negev, in the North, in the occupied State of Palestine, and everywhere
else—so that all people could live in dignity and peace. Lord in your mercy…
Lord, we ask for
your swift healing for seven children injured in an explosion from an old
Israeli missilein Gaza this past weekend. Please protect the innocents who so
often get caught up in the violence of others and let your justice roll forth
like a river. Lord in your mercy…
You are the God
of liberation from oppression and freedom for those in prison. We pray thatIsrael
wouldhonor its commitment to release the fourth group of Palestinian
prisoners, andwe pray for all those arrested for resisting the occupation, for
all prisoners of conscience, andfor the many children held in Israeli prisons. Lord
in your mercy…
Gracious God,
please bless Sabeel’s programs this week, including a young women’s Lenten
program, a retreat for clergy’s wives, a youth Lenten trip to the village of
Iqrith, and several group visits to the Sabeel Nazareth office. We also ask
that your presence would be felt during the FOSNA Portland conference this
weekend, and that you would guide preparations for Sabeel’sNational Young Adult
Conference in July. Lord in your mercy…
Lord, we pray
alongside the World Council of Churches for the countries of Brunei, Malaysia,
and Singapore. Lord in your mercy…
