Eight Israelis and more than 43
Palestinians have been killed since the beginning of October. The upsurge of
violence began amid tensions at the holy site of Al Aqsa in East Jerusalem.
Israeli forces are imposing tighter restrictions in Jerusalem and the West Bank
and there have been numerous clashes with Palestinian protesters. We continue
to call on you Lord with persistence to bring justice and peace to this land.
Created in your image and knowing your desire Lord, we ask that your will be
done in Palestine-Israel as it is in heaven. Help us bring an end to this
unjust and oppressive military occupation that seems never ending.
Lord hear our
prayer/and let our cry come unto you

Palestinian youth are feeling despair
and some are resorting to violence to put an end to this military occupation.
Many Palestinian youth continue to be targeted at military checkpoints and by
settler aggression. Parents and specially mothers, watch helplessly. Like Mary
your Mother Lord Jesus, a sword pierces every mother’s soul. Lord help us
understand your words and feel your power “My grace is sufficient for you,
for my power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians
12:9)

Today many are tempted by the metal
sword and find it more appealing than the wooden cross of suffering. Give us
the grace to live the life of Gospel nonviolence that we may be faithful
followers of our nonviolent Savior. Work through our friends and community to
support us with financial resources and volunteers needed to expand our
ministries.
Lord hear our
prayer/and let our cry come unto you

We give thanks for our friends and
different solidarity movements around the world for their support through
prayers and nonviolent actions to end this violent occupation. We also give
thanks for Sabeel’s Prayer Service on Wednesday October 21th for the peace of
your land and its people, at the Dominican Church in Jerusalem. Lord, comfort
the community as it comes together in prayer.
Lord hear our
prayer/and let our cry come unto you
